Sertraline (PE)

What Sertraline (PE) does.
Sertraline is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) commonly used to treat premature ejaculation (PE), one of the most prevalent male sexual health concerns. While originally approved for depression and anxiety, Sertraline has shown effectiveness in delaying ejaculation by increasing serotonin levels in the central nervous system. Used off-label at lower doses than for mood disorders, Sertraline can improve ejaculatory control, sexual confidence, and partner satisfaction—often within days to weeks of use.
For clinician-directed care.
Sertraline (PE) is prescribed through our Sexual Wellness program for patients whose intake, symptoms and labs point to a good fit. Your provider confirms it's right for you before anything begins.
A realistic timeline.
Response differs from patient to patient. Your provider tracks symptoms and labs throughout your regimen and adjusts dosing so progress builds steadily rather than all at once.
Mild nausea, sleepiness or headache can appear first and usually settle. Little change in control yet.
Time to ejaculation begins to lengthen as the medication reaches steady state.
Peak benefit for most patients. Dose is adjusted up or down based on control versus side effects.
Some patients move to on-demand dosing before intimacy instead of a daily schedule.
Timelines are typical ranges reported in clinical use and by Monarch Rx patients. Individual results vary with dose, adherence, baseline health and lifestyle.
