What Minoxidil does.

Minoxidil is one of the most clinically effective medications for androgenetic alopecia (pattern hair loss). Minoxidil improves follicular blood flow and reactivates dormant follicles. It dilates scalp blood vessels, increasing oxygen and nutrient supply to hair follicles, which boosts follicle activity, thickens hair shafts, and encourages regrowth.

03What results look like

A realistic timeline.

Response differs from patient to patient. Your provider tracks symptoms and labs throughout your regimen and adjusts dosing so progress builds steadily rather than all at once.

Weeks 1–6

Shedding phase

A temporary increase in shedding is normal and usually a sign follicles are cycling forward.

Months 2–4

Loss slows

Shedding settles and the hairline stops receding for most patients. This is the first real win.
